Protecting the earth

Our planet, the earth is the only planet we know so far that we can survive on. Human beings need oxygen to survive, giving them no other planet to live on but earth because the earth has oxygen for us to breathe. Many people think that the earth is already very healthy and that we do not need to protect it. That might be because the place that he or she lives has a very good environment. however, in some places, it is not the same. the air in some places isn't even clean to breathe. Global warming is another problem we have on our planet. Because of the high temperatures, ice melts in the Arctic and the Antarctic, causing many animals that survive in the cold to die. As we live longer on this earth, the amount of oxygen is decreasing. Since plants and animals help each other, the most easiest way to solve this problem is to plant more trees ( plants do the opposite. They inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen.) . The earth affects our health and our daily lives, so that means that if we are able to keep our earth healthy, it means we are keeping ourselves healthy too.

Sleepover with my friend

Today is fourth of July and I have no camp so I get to have a sleepover with my friend that is also called Nicole. She just came back from Hawaii and she brought seashell necklaces for me and our two other friends, Michaela and Diya. They weren't able to come, though. Nicole also brought some beads and I got the strings. Together, we made four friendship bracelets. We had a lot of fun. We went to the park to play and we also played on the computer. At night, we are going to see fireworks. Of course, everyone knows, the best part of the sleepover is at night when it is time to go to bed. I might sheak the iPad into my room so we can play games or go on the Internet. My mom won't even know! Also, we might use flashlights and tell spooky stories in my bed. It is really fun because I get to see my friend again in summer and tell her that I missed her.

Basketball Camp

This week, I have basketball camp at Valley Christian summer sports camps. It was really fun and I really learned a lot and enjoyed it. It was also a good time for me to make new friends, like Ashley (one of my friends). I learned a lot of things and we practiced almost everything everyday. The main coach also had other coaches from different places visit us and talk about basketball with us. He said he loved to have his local coaches come in and talk about basketball because he liked basketball more than any of the other sports. I practiced things like dribbling and shooting baskets. Despite all the hard work, we also did some fun things. For example, we did relay races and a game called Knock Out. We also got to play a game at the end of practice. My team won all the games, except the one on Wednesday. On Thursday, everyone worked extra hard because the one that won the game on Thursday, would start off with two extra points for the final game on Friday. Friday was Championship Day, and it was an exciting experience for everyone. All the coaches signed our shirts and we got pictures of everybody. I love my basketball camp!

Comment on Jen Chin's "Cooking Lunch!"

I like making noodle soup as well, except I'm probably not very good at it. Today, my mom made noodles too. I liked them. They didn't have soup in them though. First, she boiled the water and separated the noodles. After that, she put them in the boiling hot water and started cooking them. Once she did that, she started working on the sauce. She chopped up meat and celery into small pieces and mixed it with miso sauce and cooked it. When she was done, the noodles were ready to be taken out. My mom tasted one to make sure they were soft, not hard and raw. Mom prepared four bowls and poured the water out of the pot the noodles were in. She filled it with clean water and once again, drained the water. This was supposed to clean the noodles. She put some noodles into each bowl and poured some sauce onto each bowl of noodles. Finally, my mom put some soy sauce and other stuff on the table in case anybody wanted more flavor in their noodles. I helped her with some things, such as separating the noodles and setting the table for my family. I had a great dinner because my mom's noodles were so delicious. I want to learn how to cook from mom later on. Yum! I love my mom's noodles! I really liked this blog that I read. It also teached me a new recipe.

Carl's Public Speaking Class

I go to a public speaking class and my teacher is Carl. I really love this class because it is a lot of fun and I can also learn a lot of cool stuff. So far, we have learned about the three BIG c's, how to use them in a speech, how to be a confident speaker, mindset and the two types of thinking, and how to write a good introduction to a paragraph of a speech. One thing I really like about this class I'm going to is that we have cool home work, like making a blog, which was really fun for me. I enjoyed making comments on other people's blogs as well. I have also learned a lot more than I did when I first entered this class. Right now, it is only the second week and the whole camp lasts for five weeks ( we go on Sundays ). What the teacher teaches us is very helpful and will most likely help me later on. Something I don't like about the class is that it starts at 9:00 am and ends at 1:00 pm. I usually have lunch at 12:00, so when my dad comes to pick me up from the class, I'm starving. It would be nice if Carl could bring some snacks ( yay!). All in all, I think this camp is really good and I will definetly consider coming back next year.

Trip to China

I'm so excited about summer! Every week, I have a different camp. This week, I have Math Edge summer camp. Last week, I had horse camp, next week, I have basketball camp, etc. You get the idea. I'm also really glad to be away from school. Mainly, I am going to China. During the summer, my whole family is going to go to China. We are staying in Beijing at my little cousin's apartment. At China, I am going to see my cousins. I am the only one of my cousins that lives in America. My little cousin wants a gift from America, so we are giving her a dress and a Barbie doll because she is a very girly girl. My mom is happy because it will be a family reunion. We are staying for 4 weeks. My dad will only stay for 2 weeks because he has work to do. After that, he will return to America. :(  Last time I went to China, I was only 2 years old. We went to my dad's hometown, which is basically the wilderness and there were so many flies, I got stomach flu. My mom said this time, we will visit the Forbidden City and climb the Great Wall again, just like last time. I also hope I can see pandas. I am so excited about China!
