Baking Disaster

One Friday morning, Mrs Bakers was humming and stirring the batter in the large silver bowl. She was making cake for her daughter, Annabel. Today was Annabel's thirteen birthday, and it would be her first year as a teenager, so Mrs. Bakers wanted the cake to be perfect. She promised Annabel that everything would be amazing at the party. A smile crept up Mrs. Bakers's face as she proudly thought of her growing-up daughter while stirring the creamy batter.

Oh no! Mrs. Bakers had forgotten her special ingredient! She rushes out the kitchen to get it. Meanwhile, Emily, Annabel's younger sister, comes in and pours exploding powder into the batter. Emily hears her mother's footsteps as she approaches the kitchen, so she quickly ducks down and hides in a cupboard under the sink.

Just as Mrs. Bakers enters, the batter explodes in her face! She screams and the jar of jelly in her hand falls to the ground and smashes into pieces. Mrs. Bakers knows right away that Emily did it, but Emily is hidden in the cupboard and can escape from her mother when the school bus arrives.

Tom Sawyer Poem

There once was a boy named Huck,
And he had the fortunate luck,
To have Tom as his friend.
They would stay together till the end.

He wanted to search for treasure.
They would do it together.
However, they came upon Injun Joe!
His heart was full of woe!

Tom searched in the cave,
Until he found the treasure of the knave.
He raced back to Huck Finn,
For the treasure they would win!

Spring

Springtime in California is a time for growing plants and animals. With all the wild flowers blooming and bursting into color on the cool green grass, everything smells nice. Spring is a time when plants start growing. All the buds start growing and opening with the warm showers of rain, the whistling spring breeze, and the shining sun. Spring is also a time for animals. Ducks swim in the cool blue ponds, while birds sing and eggs crack in nests. The bees and butterflies buzz from flower to flower, and suck the sweet nectar. Also, sweet cherries and other fruits ripen in the tall trees. Everything in spring starts to come alive.

Protecting the earth

Our planet, the earth is the only planet we know so far that we can survive on. Human beings need oxygen to survive, giving them no other planet to live on but earth because the earth has oxygen for us to breathe. Many people think that the earth is already very healthy and that we do not need to protect it. That might be because the place that he or she lives has a very good environment. however, in some places, it is not the same. the air in some places isn't even clean to breathe. Global warming is another problem we have on our planet. Because of the high temperatures, ice melts in the Arctic and the Antarctic, causing many animals that survive in the cold to die. As we live longer on this earth, the amount of oxygen is decreasing. Since plants and animals help each other, the most easiest way to solve this problem is to plant more trees ( plants do the opposite. They inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen.) . The earth affects our health and our daily lives, so that means that if we are able to keep our earth healthy, it means we are keeping ourselves healthy too.

Sleepover with my friend

Today is fourth of July and I have no camp so I get to have a sleepover with my friend that is also called Nicole. She just came back from Hawaii and she brought seashell necklaces for me and our two other friends, Michaela and Diya. They weren't able to come, though. Nicole also brought some beads and I got the strings. Together, we made four friendship bracelets. We had a lot of fun. We went to the park to play and we also played on the computer. At night, we are going to see fireworks. Of course, everyone knows, the best part of the sleepover is at night when it is time to go to bed. I might sheak the iPad into my room so we can play games or go on the Internet. My mom won't even know! Also, we might use flashlights and tell spooky stories in my bed. It is really fun because I get to see my friend again in summer and tell her that I missed her.
